Beaver Creek Sports is located in The Ritz Carlton Bachelors Gulch Hotel. The Assistant Store Manager works side-by-side with the Store Manager , Hotel management, and other full time and seasonal employees to deliver outstanding guest service and sales revenue/gross margin performance per the store's operating budget for each fiscal year. The ASM will be responsible for the performance the rental shop, which has a significant impact on the store's overall performance.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing ASTM Pre season and in season testing

  • Recovering over due rental equipment

  • Coordinate In room rental fittings for hotel guests

  • Have an understanding and working knowledge of Ritz Ski Valet

  • Performing the store opening and store closing procedures as dictated by the "shop schedule" maintained and published by the Store Manager

  • Greeting guests when they enter the store; consulting with guests on the various products which may best meet guest wants and needs

  • Encouraging guests to complete purchases through the application of guest-friendly sales process closing techniques

  • Maintaining the store's visual merchandizing standards; requires minute-by-minute attention to detail, especially when store traffic is heavy

  • Ringing up sales at the "cash wrap" using VRR's APTOS point-of-sale system

  • Handling guest returns and refunds as necessary

  • Handling incoming and outgoing store-to-store transfers

  • Handling store replenishment orders inbound from a VRR distribution center; the same applies to inbound orders received directly from The North Face

  • Restocking the floor as sales take place, drawing from the store's backstock

  • Helps recruit, train and supervise seasonal employees along with the Store Manager and a second Assistant Store Manager

  • Follows the store's cash management and loss prevention policies and procedures to the letter

  • Actively participates in the annual physical inventory process which takes place in May of each fiscal year

  • Enforce company cash handling policies and procedures, and other loss prevention policies

  • Participates in regularly scheduled store staff meetings

  • Remain current on new industry products and trends, and demonstrate knowledge of products

  • Be energetic, motivated, and possess the ability to multi-task

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of retail sales experience - preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent - required

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications - required

  • Ability to communicate frequently with co-workers and guests in accurate spoken and written English - required

  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal

  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task

  • Familiarity with retail POS system - preferred

  • Must be a team player and be able to handle fast paced sometimes stressful environment

  • Possess the desire to offer the highest customer service standards to guests
