Base Area Operations is hiring an experienced equipment operator for the Grounds Maintenance Department. Work schedule is dictated by snow or snow removal projects and does involve early mornings. We are looking for a detail-oriented employee who will be able to maintain a constant eye towards quality, efficiency and guest/employee safety. Previous training in equipment operations is required.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for snow plowing and snow removal operations at the resort, including ensuring icy surfaces are covered with sand or salt.
Safely and efficiently operate all equipment used by the base ops team including but not limited to front end loaders, back hoe, skid steers, ATVs, plow/sand spreader trucks and snow blowers.
Monitor all equipment and make sure that all issues are addressed promptly and communicated with Vehicle Maintenance.
Provide the safest possible surfaces for our guests and employees to drive and walk on.
Consistently provide a professional experience when handling an internal or external guest requests
Ability to work unsupervised
When not driving heavy machinery assist grounds department with daily tasks:
Clear/remove snow and ice from sidewalks and plaza’s using shovels or pickers
Monitor, maintain and transport of all base area Recycling & Trash
Overall cleanliness, appearance, flow of all base areas, including ski rack placement
Minimum 1 year experience operating heavy equipment- required
Must be at least 18 years of age - required
High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience - required
Valid driver's license - required
Read, Write, speak English - required
Must have commitment to safety
Must have ability to work outside in extreme mountain conditions
Must have a flexible schedule which would include the ability to work early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
Working knowledge of and ability to properly use hand tools and power tools
Ability to work outside in extreme mountain conditions – required
Ability to lift up to 75lbs and perform physical labor – required
Ability to operate a manual transmission - required
The budgeted range starts at $16.00 -$21.25. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
