The Vice President of Lodging Operations – Summit County supports the Hospitality Division of Vail Resorts with the execution and oversight of the Summit County (Colorado) hospitality group. This position will serve as the direct reporting line and relationship with that area’s general manager/property manager group and primary relationship manager with certain third party hotel owners, homeowner associations and other key external contacts. This position is based in Summit County, Colorado (office space in both Keystone and Breckenridge) and will have ultimate responsibility for the Keystone and Breckenridge markets’ operational and financial results. The individual will spend a significant amount of time on growing our lodging portfolio in the two markets, leveraging local and corporate based resources.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary support for the Keystone and Breckenridge market general managers and other direct reports (finance, engineering, F&B, etc.).

  • Responsible for all results of the Keystone and Breckenridge hospitality markets – including financial, guest service, brand standards/quality control, safety/workers compensation, and other measures.

  • Maintains executive level relationships with third party hotel owners, and key HOA presidents/boards.

  • Serves on boards in local community based on needs and requirements.

  • Responsible for the growth of the hospitality business in the Keystone and Breckenridge markets – for both hotel and property management/rental management services.

  • Primary liaison to the corporate/Broomfield hospitality team and centralized VP of Operations.

  • Participates in Hospitality & Real Estate Leadership team on a recurring and regular basis.

  • Maintains high ethical and moral standards, serving as an example to the team.

  • Works on special projects as requested by the EVP/COO.

  • Works at all levels in the organization to identify innovative ideas and initiatives that will build value for the company.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • College degree, preferred degree in Hospitality Administration or equivalent work experience.

  • Seven years of leadership experience in hospitality operations with experience in property management/vacation rentals a plus.

  • Varied experience in operational leadership such as rooms, spa, food and beverage or similar.

  • Above average proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Maintains a professional, cooperative and friendly demeanor at all times.
