Intern – Athletics: Youth Basketball Centennial | Littleton | Lone Tree
$12.00 per hour
Under the supervision of the Athletics Coordinator and/or Athletics Sports Manager, this position is responsible for performing support functions for all Athletics operations. The job may require shifts ranging from morning to evening hours and weekends. This position consists of working 25-35 hours per week during the months of November through March.
Our ideal candidate will:
Perform a variety of administrative support tasks including scheduling, maintaining accurate records, data entry, inventory, ordering supplies, and payments.
Supervise and/or officiate basketball games on evening and weekends
Work closely with the public to explain league rules, procedures, and schedules; assist patrons with questions about practices, registration.
Respond to, internal and external, inquires for information and resolves complaints in a courteous manner, providing information within the area of assignment or refers to appropriate individual.
Assist with recruitment efforts of volunteer coaches by reviewing applications and scheduling.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, agencies, and the public.
Attend work on a regular, reliable and punctual basis.
- Graduation from high school or completion of GED and two (2) years of equivalent full-time work experience related to athletics and/or general office work; or any equivalent combination of acceptable education and years of experience
- Must be enrolled in a current bachelor program for school credit.
Material and Equipment Used: Requires intermediate to advanced PC skills with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Knowledge of POS and registration programs preferred.
Working Environment: 90% of work is performed indoors with normal noise and frequent interruptions. When working outdoors, possible exposure to extreme temperatures, sun, rain, snow, wind, humid or icy conditions and frequent exposure to grasses, molds, fertilizers, dust and pesticides
Physical Requirements: Must be able to push, pull or balance. Upper body strength is a requisite to lift/move a maximum of 25 pounds unassisted, and lift/move a maximum of 50 pounds with assistance. Vision requirements include: near acuity, far acuity, and depth perception and color vision. Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, exhibit manual dexterity and the ability to handle objects. Requires the ability to communicate verbally with both children and adults. The ability to talk and hear via the telephone, e-mail, and through face-to-face communication is needed.
