Focus on the Family AV Technician, Events Management in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The AV Technician, Events Management position exists to preform highly diversified functions with responsibility for the entire audio-visual process, including anything from sound reinforcement and graphic creation to audio-visual equipment set-up, operation, and take-down.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Serves as Graphics Engineer for conferences, chapels, and other ministry events

Serves as back-up sound technician or lighting technician for conferences, chapels, and other ministry events

Monitor visual feeds to ensure quality when presenting during meetings, events, and conferences

Performs set-up, operation, and takedown of ministry AV equipment Provides professional AV Services for off-site Focus conferences, events and meetings

Assists with gathering requirements and planning equipment and staffing needs to support on and off-site events at host location(s)

Assists in locating sources for AV equipment in the host area. Is responsible for the physical set-up of all audio, video, lighting and computer projection equipment to support client needs

Produces technical aspects of the entire event to ensure a seamless, professional presentation

Executes daily set-up/tear-down schedule of audio/visual equipment needs based upon department requests

Provides feedback and recommendations for equipment purchases to support the Ministry Event Production strategic plan Maintain inventory of equipment

Other Duties/Responsibilities:

May travel occasionally Required to have a flexible schedule Required to work occasional weekends or additional hours May direct volunteers and or contractors in assigned duties during event production Performs other duties as assigned

Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

Must be able to pass a Post Offer Prehire Physical exam Must be able to pass a Post Offer Hearing Exam

Must be able to carry up to 20lbs

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs Must be able to push/pull up to 40lbs

Must be able to climb, bend, crouch, squat, crawl, kneel, and reach above head

Requires repetitive tasks/motions, good eye-hand-foot coordination, and good manual dexterity

Frequent exposure to noise, dust, fumes, etc.

Frequent heavy lifting, carrying, crawling, and bending

Some travel required

Knowledge/Experience:

2-4 years of experience in a combination of live sound engineering, graphics creation, and presentation.

Should have a firm grasp of all AV fields and how they interface to facilitate complex presentations

Proficient in computer presentation software including Keynote, ProPresenter, and PowerPoint preferred Proficiency in Photoshop & Adobe Premiere preferred

Knowledge of sound reinforcement and video recording equipment a plus

Experience in proper lighting techniques & lighting design preferred

Experience in set-up and install of audio, video, and recording equipment a plus CTS a plus

Skills, Abilities and Special Talents/Gifts:

Attention to detail and accuracy

Familiar with basic interconnection of video and audio equipment

Familiar with video principles and the requirements for projection interfacing

Familiar with computer projection hardware and software

Flexibility in work hours and scheduling changes

Ability to represent Focus on the Family in a positive light and to communicate effectively and professionally to a variety of clients: Ministry Donors, Church staff, vendors, FOF board members and executive staff, etc.
