Job Description:The Colorado Springs, Co is seeking a dynamic, energetic and enthusiasticBanquets House Person to take on the challenge of a unique position . Ourproperty provides complimentary meals, employee events, great hoteldiscounts at over 5,700 hotels world-wide and perks for local events &attractiSet up all meeting rooms to the specifications of the guest. This includesconsiderable physical activity in transporting awkward and heavy materialssuch as staging, tables, chairs, dance floors, etc., from storagearea to meeting rooms. Supply and replenish meeting rooms with clean glassesand fresh water. Break down all meeting rooms where meetings have concludedand return to storage closet so the room will be available to be reset for thenext function. Maintain established cleaning schedule of meeting rooms andballrooms so the rooms stay presentable at all times. Cleaning pre-functionarea to include vacuuming and cleaning area and sweeping and mopping backhallway. Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaningproducts as assigned by the supervisor to adhere to health standards and anyother duties as requested, such as cleaning up unexpected spills, orspecial guest requests. Communicate with supervisor throughout shift to beaware of the work.Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may berequired to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. Experience and Skills:The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilitiesand be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform theessential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation,using some other combination of skills and abilities.Knowledge of various types of equipment and set up styles used in the meetingrooms. For example: different table types (round, schoolroom, etc.).Ability to understand verbal English sufficient to understand verbal jobrequests from supervisor and guests.Ability to lift and move multiple tables and chairs and podiums weighing up to80 lbs. through a crowded room. This position requires considerable physicalactivity on a continuous basis throughout the shift for room set up and breakdown.Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise move or push goods ona hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 500 lbs. Qualification StandardsEducation:Any combination of education and experience that provides the requiredknowledge, skills and abilities.Experience:No prior experience required. Prior hospitality experience preferred.
