JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title: Host/HostessReports ToFood and Beverage Manager, Asst Outlets Manager and Outlets SupervisorJob SummaryProvide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional diningexperience for all of our guests, by welcoming and warmly greeting guests onarrival. Manage the efficient and timely seating of our guests to a table thatbest serves their wishes.Activities and ResponsibilitiesPrimaryo Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission ofHotel Elegante and Rustlers Country Cafe:o Warmly and graciously greet all guests and seat them at tables or inwaiting areas.o Assist guests entering or leaving the restaurant when possible. Luggage,coats, wheel chair access.o Provide guests with menus and silverware roll ups and inform them of theirserver's name upon seating.o Record guest names and the number of people in party and provide guestswith estimated waiting time when immediate seating is limited. Offer alternatedining options within the hotel when they cannot wait.o Assign guests to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotationso that servers receive an appropriate number of seatings.o Call out name and number of party when tables become available.o Speak with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service, torespond to complaints, or to make conversation.o Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries or transfer calls. Takereservations and log them in book.o Maintain contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, andguests to ensure that dining details are handled properly, and customers'concerns are addressed.o Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup.Assist with beveraging, bussing and resetting when needed.o Inform guests of establishment specialties and features. Offer directionsand information on hotel services and amenities.o Receive and record guests' dining reservations.o Relay messages to servers and bussers as needed.o Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.o Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions forimprovement.o Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests' needs andsupport the operation of the restaurant.o Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest servicestandards and efficient operations.o Maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant utilizing checklists. Vacuum,dusting, organizing, cleaning menu jackets etc.Supplementalo Take and prepare to-go orders.o Operate cash registers to accept payments for food and beverages oncetrained to do this.o Supervise and coordinate activities of dining room staff to ensure thatpatrons receive prompt and courteous service.o Order or requisition supplies and equipment for tables and serving stations.o Assist with preparing and serving food and beverages when needed.
