The Lead Food Services, Whit’s End position exists to ensure guests to the Whit’s End Soda Shoppe experience a level of hospitality that exceeds their expectations, bringing the well-loved feel of the Whit’s End Soda Shoppe from Adventures in Odyssey to life. The position involves performing daily tasks in the preparation and serving of food items at Whit’s End. The Lead Food Services position performs the Working Supervisor’s tasks in their absence (cash register, end-of-day reports, supervises staff, handles customer complaints/refunds).
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Cleans and stocks cooking and serving areas
Operates cash register and makes change; performs end of day balancing
Assists guests with information requiring extensive knowledge of the ministry, personnel, the Guest Relations Program, and tours
Follows sanitation guidelines per Health Department requirements
Works with other GR staff to build a strong team
Maintains a positive, uplifting attitude towards guests and fellow workers
Greets, builds relationships, and assists guests, including directing visitors for tours and providing other information
May operate and balance cash registers
May create staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for Whit’s End while managing costs
May perform various administrative duties such as ordering, Cash Reports, daily inventory, and delivery check-ins
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
May be in costume 30 minutes at a time, occasionally, that includes being visible to the guests, being present at Whit’s End Birthday Parties, welcoming guests, playing with kids, taking pictures with guests, and making guests smile
Performs special projects as assigned by Whit’s End Working Supervisor
Performs other duties as assigned
Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job:
Serves as Working Supervisor at least weekly
Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
Must be able to pass a Post Offer Prehire Physical exam
Standing for long periods of time
Moving/lifting heavy items up to 35 pounds
Exposure to fumes, hot items, and food prep equipment
May, occasionally, be in costume for 30 minutes at a time

Knowledge/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
1-2 years of experience dealing with the public in food preparation preferred
In-depth knowledge of FOF mission, philosophy, values, and objectives and Adventures In Odyssey brand
Skills, Abilities, and Special Talents/Gifts:
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with individuals
Possesses a high degree of emotional intelligence
Ability to communicate effectively

Ability to handle stress of large crowds desiring immediate service
Stewardship Requirements:
Handles cash and credit card transactions
Has access to Whit’s End safe
Pay Range: $13.91 to $15.73/hr.
