Job Details:

  • Position Purpose: Responsible for maintaining a high level of floor cleanliness in but not limited to ED, Day

Surgery, Med-Surg, Special Care, OB, Lab, Cardiopulmonary, and Diagnostic Imaging and all MRH properties ,

preventing cross infection, minimizing air borne bacteria and ensuring a aseptic environment. Washing windows,

cleaning ceiling vents and cleaning out light fixtures.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

Position Specific Performance Expectations:

o Positive and supportive team member to staff members and the hospital.

o Keeping all machines clean and sanitized after each use.

o Participates in interdepartmental process improvements and process evaluation.

o Attend staff meetings.

o Interaction with other departments in solving problems and working as a team.

o Acts as an internal consultant and educator to hospital staff in areas of expertise as needed.

o Demonstrates a professional and caring attitude.

o Feedback sessions with Supervisor.

o Strives to ensure continual compliance with Departmental and Hospital Policies and Procedures and

State/Federal Regulations.

o Employee participates in, in-services.

o Employee is responsible for cleaning and maintenance of floors at TMH, TMHMC, and PT including but

not limited to mopping, buffing, stripping, waxing floor tiles and vacuuming, and shampooing carpets.

o Employee must be able to use a computer to do annual safety training courses and to read e-mail.

o After training employee must be able to operate and clean all floor machines.

o Employee will assist EVS staff with lifting, cleaning, etc.

o Can identify and access system to report abuse of employees and/or patients.

o Adheres to policies and procedures for infection control, safety and risk management.

o Knowledge of patient's rights.

o Performs other duties as assigned.

o Responsible for disposal of trash, bio hazard waste and other disposable materials.

o Must handle various cleaning solvents and supplies.

o Report any needed repairs immediately to supervisor.

o Able to work all shifts 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM; 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM; 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM Mon. – Fri.

o Weekends and Holiday hours 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM; 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM

Qualifications:

Education/Certifications:

o High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience Required:

o Hospital floor care experience is desirable.
