Custodian Supervisor (Job ID: 2240)Job SummaryUnder general supervision, coordinates environmental services activities fora given shift and area of responsibility in accordance with professionalstandards and guidelines as defined by departmental policies and procedures.Works independently with management direction and has direct responsibilityover the custodians' operational work. Supervisor works with the scheduledstaff to meet the needs of the hospital, clinics and outlying buildingswithin budgetary constraints. Supervisor assigns staff and other resources,reviews and documents the quality of the work performed, manages thestaff, communicates and problem-solves with the customers and serves as theadministrative liaison in the absence of a Director or Manager.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesEducation: High School diploma/GED. Experience: Typically one tothree years of supervisory or lead experience in housekeeping or other supportservices. Knowledge about cleaning standards and cleaning agent use. Preferexperience in a health care setting. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to communicate positively and effectively to a variety of staff andprofessionals. Skill in managing EVS employees. Organizational skills. Abilityto work independently, multi-task and establish priorities. Exhibitinitiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership. Ability tointerpret and apply written and verbal guidelines and work practices tostandardized work situations or specific cases. Able to work independently andcoordinate several activities at the same time. Demonstrate progressive growthin the field of healthcare environmental services facility maintenance.None.
