BASIC JOB FUNCTION:Assist workers engaged in preparing foods for restaurant by performing acombination of duties. Also, to produce all orders on an a la carte basisand to prep for buffets, banquets, salad bars and hors d' oeuvres.RESPONSIBILITIES:Must be able to "prep" food products for line and banquet consumption,using standardized food preparation techniques.Wash, peel, cut, and seed vegetables and fruits; clean, and cutmeats, poultry, and seafood; stir and strain soups and sauces, etc.Weigh and measure designated ingredients.Date all food containers and rotate as per the SOP, making sure perishablesare kept at proper temperatures.Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations,stove, and refrigerator.Store foods in designated areas, utilizing knowledge of temperaturerequirements and food spoilage. Maintain sanitary regulations of foodtemperatures.
