Duties/ResponsibilitiesTeach 3+ credit hours. Subject areas may include, but are not limitedto: Wedding Planning, Event Industry, Event Project Management, EventPlanning, Event Support Systems, Hospitality Promotions, Trade Shows andExpositions, Special Event Production.Candidate will work and interact with diverse groups of individuals,demonstrate ability to effectively infuse technology into course work, beavailable for consultation with students.Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on asemester by semester basis. Affiliate Faculty are not eligible for benefitcoverage under the University's benefit program. All such teachingassignments are dependent on budget and enrollment. An Affiliate facultymember's duties include: meeting assigned classes or delivering onlinecontent consistent with University, School, and Department policies;providing instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content andlearning objectives of the regular course syllabus and, if appropriate,with department course coordination policies; being available, either faceto face or electronically, to students in assigned classes to provideadditional support as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment;and complying with University-wide student evaluation of instruction policiesand peer observation policies.Candidates need to be sensitive to the educational needs of students from adiverse population, conduct student assessments as prescribed by thecurriculum, and must be willing to adhere to policies and proceduresregarding students and faculty as established by the University andDepartment.
