Scope of Position:
The Salvation Army is seeking: A day camp program leader willing to coordinate weekly activities with the program director, as well as delegate responsibilities and supervise the rest of the day camp staff. They will also be acting as a team leader. A team leader is to provide day-to-day supervision and leadership care for youth ages 6 – 12 years old. This is a full-time position (40 hrs/week) that pays $14.77 per hour and includes sick time off accrual.
Duties:
Assist with planning and implementation of daily program and lesson assignments which will meet the needs of the children in attendance
Lead Devotionals, worship, and activities for all children
Stand in as the supervising director of staff in the instance that the director is not present
Implement instructional learning activities for the purpose of improving students’ academic, physical and social skills
Set and enforce rules for the team which ensures safety, enjoyment, education, and socialization for the campers
Assist the Corps Officers (Administrators) in any other duties as requested, in order to maintain a consistently high level of efficiency in the operation of the corps
Attend and participate in daily staff meetings as directed by the Program Director.
Assist with the planning and implementation of Day Camp programs to include all educational, craft, recreational, leisure and meal/snack activities.
Follow all safety health guidelines for COVID-19 sanitation and boundaries (Will enforce this with the kids as well)
Be an appropriate and effective example for both campers and staff members.
Report any suspected child abuse issues to Director immediately, as well as to any mandated authorities.
Position Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is required for all Intermountain Division positions
Self-motivated individual who is passionate about strong leadership
Has a passion for working with children ages 6-12
One year of experience in youth leadership preferred
Must be willing to use bible-based curriculum, and set a Christian example for children and staff
At least 21 years of age, and has a valid Colorado driver’s license
Must be willing to undergo driving training, and to drive vehicles such as 12-passenger vans
