Coach Youth LacrosseGeneral Purpose:The Sports Coach and/or Program Instructor are responsible for planning andleading department's programs, including sports and activities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:1. Participate in pre-season staff orientation/training program.2. Arrive at the job site at the assigned scheduled time.3. Organize and lead special activities, enrichment and sports programs,and other recreational activities.4. Submit lesson plans and supply requests to the Recreation Supervisor.5. Work in cooperation with all staff to create fun, exciting programs forparticipants of all ages.6. Emphasize and model good sportsmanship in sports, games and otheractivities.7. Attend staff meetings and in-service training.8. Dress appropriately when on duty. Staff shirts should be worn while on dutyto ensure staff members are easilydistinguishable.9. Ensure the safety and well being of each participant by making sure allplaying surfaces are free of hazards and by not putting players in potentiallydangerous situations through inappropriate drills, weather conditions, ormismatched opponents.10. Put winning in perspective and follow the philosophy (have fun, equalplaying time, teach sportsmanship, and teach proper fundamentals) forall youth sports programs.11. Communicate to parents any necessary information that they would need,such as times and locations for practices, games, meets as well properequipment needed, etc.12. Clearly lay out all expectation for the program to both parents andparticipants.13. Assist Program Coordinator/Recreation Supervisor in scheduling athleticcontests and practices, and/or scheduledprogram activities.14. Teach the proper techniques and fundamentals for the specific sport beingcoached or instructional activity.15. Care for all equipment, supplies, records and facilities.16. Follow-up on all department policies and procedures.Other Duties:1. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.Experience:Prefer individuals who have some experience with children in an educational orrecreational environment as well as knowledge of the sport or activity theyare coaching or leading.Requirements:1.) Ability to obtain, CPR and 1st Aid Certifications.2.)
