This position will report to the:Assistant Executive Housekeeperlocated in:Evans Army Hospital - Colorado Springs, CO-site 570Essential Job FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilitiesto perform the essential functions.Prepare, maintain, and arrange housekeeping, and floor care personnelschedules to meet the daily or changing workloads or requests.Direct and monitor work assignments for housekeeping duties; conductinspection, check completion of work, and ensure compliance to contractspecifications.Monitor employee performance. Train new and existing personnel in cleaningprocedures and assuring that all facility rules are being observed regardingsecurity and safety for personnel, property, and facilities.Maintain time and attendance and resolve routine disciplinary problems.Maintain inventory of cleaning deficiency records, and submit reportsconcerning personnel, equipment, supplies, and general maintenance andrepair activities.Adhere to the company rules, technical procedures, and safety policies asmay be communicated verbally or in writing.Participation in the Performance Management Program is required.Provide leadership to housekeeping staff, fostering exceptional customerservice skills; motivate staff to improve performance; encourage furtherdevelopment and build professionalism.Supervise a staff of 15-50 Environmental Services Technicians.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED.One or two years of public sector (school, hospital, etc.) relatedexperience preferred.Two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred.Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (C.H.E.S.T.) preferred.Experience in an environment that includes workers with disabilitiespreferred.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExperience with all Microsoft Office applications with emphasis in Outlook.Ability to follow directions, understand work rules and procedures, andaccept constructive criticism.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly requiredto talk or hear.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision andability to adjust focus.Mobility to frequently alternate between sitting, standing, and movingabout the facilities.Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, usehands to handle, and move about the facilities; may lift up to 50lbs;Prolong walking up to 90%.Ability to read and understand the "Material Safety Data Sheets"(MSDS) for all chemicals and solutions used during working hours.Ability to read and understand service requests, container labels, productinformation, and directions on cleaning chemicals and other materials.Ability to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.Working knowledge of cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships withco-workers, hospital staff and government officials.Ability to adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations.Ability and willingness to exert disciplinary action as needed.Ability to adhere to contract requirements, company mission, corevalues, policies and ethical practices.Working ConditionAbility to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.Ability to be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors. Subject tohazards associated with working in a health care environment that may causepersonal harm; diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, common colds,influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.May be required to work in aseptic areas and be exposed to various chemicalsand infectious disease.Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.Possess valid driver's license and maintain good driving record.If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and baseaccess to assigned site(s).
