Excellent references including attendance and punctuality.Job Goals:To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, andefficient place in which to learn, play, and develop.Essential Job Functions: 1. Ability to diagnose custodial maintenance problems and to execute thesolution. 2. Perform minor repair of equipment, furniture, building, and tools(i.e. sheetrock, trim, minor carpentry, painting). 3. Make sure all fire safety standards are in compliance. 4. Demonstrate ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. 5. Be able to accept personal responsibility for assigned areas, withoutsupervision. 6. Maintain proper and necessary records. 7. Order supplies and equipment. 8. Perform minor plumbing, and electrical repairs on equipment andtools(i.e. faucet repairs, outlet and switch replacements, lampreplacements, replace ballast, minor plugged drains, and toilets,flush valve repairs, etc.)Performance Responsibilities: 1. Supervise and assist evening custodians in the proper custodialcare,security and safety, operation and maintenance of assignedbuildings, grounds, and equipment.Works under the direct supervision ofthe principal or designee, the Custodial Manager of Facility Services andthe general supervision of the Director of Maintenance and Operations. 2. Training, scheduling, assignment, supervision, and evaluation ofassigned employees. 3. Conduct periodic maintenance on all cleaning equipment assigned to theschool cleaning crew. 4. Knowledgeable of location and operation of emergency shutoffs andcontrol valves. 5. Maintain preventative maintenance logs and other records as required. 6. Perform hand and bench work and operate tools and power equipment. 7. Removal of snow and ice from designated areas. 8. Playground equipment repairs and logs. 9. Collaborates with school principal in the organization, supervision,direction of all special activities within the building. 10. Other related duties as directed.Tools and Equipment:Vacuum cleaner, lawn mower, buffer, snow blower and carpet cleaner. Alltools and equipment may not be listed.Salary:Head Custodians are a Grade 7 on the Classified Salary Schedule.- FFC8 allows new hires to bring in up to 8 years of previous experience insimilar school type settings.- Please understand that new hires tend to start out at the lower end of thesalary range.Salary ScheduleEmployment Period:261 days per year - 8 Hour Work Days
