Environmental Services SupervisorSUPERVISES: Environmental Services TechniciansCOLLABORATES WITH: Contracted housekeeping services; Inpatient unitmanagers; Food Services staffSUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:This first-line supervisor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe andhygienic environment for staff, patients, visitors and customers who cometo the 12th street campus buildings. The person in this position with providedirect supervision of environmental services staff and oversight of the workof any vendors participating in cleaning services. This includes evaluatingjob performance, inventory of products and equipment, identification ofissues in cleaning and/or repairs, and directly participating in dailycleaning as needed. The 12th street campus includes the Hospice InpatientUnit, Administrative Offices, Spoons dining room, Miller House,Facilities and Purchasing Building, and 3 culdesac houses.QUALIFICATIONSThree to five years of related experience including supervision of staff.Prior experience in environmental services in a healthcare setting ispreferred.Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English for essentialjob functions, requiredAbility to successfully function in a fast paced, service orientedenvironment is requiredHigh School diploma or equivalent preferredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Medium workWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly requiredto stand, walk, sit, use the hands to finger, handle or feelobjects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs;balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50pounds.
