We service customers from strategically located distribution facilities and manufacturing facilities, that produce value-added products such as roof and floor trusses, wall panels, stairs, vinyl windows, custom millwork and pre-hung doors. Builders FirstSource also distributes dimensional lumber and lumber sheet goods, millwork, windows, interior and exterior doors, and other building products.

Summary: Supports Manufactured Products in the field after they have been shipped to our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.Other duties may be assigned.

  • Repairs any defects that the plant has been made aware of to the customers satisfaction.

  • Completes field audit reports as required to support the Plants Quality Assurance Program.

  • Delivers materials to site as required.

  • Coordinates with Professional Engineers when performing structural repairs

  • Completes forms applicable to service being provided.

  • Communicates with customers, other employees and supervisors, verbally and in writing.

  • Identifies additional service needs while at the site.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be knowledgeable of wood construction and able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Ability to use all types of Construction Power Tools.Must have knowledge and ability to use safe lifting techniques.

Education and/or Experience : Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training.This job requires a thorough knowledge of wood construction and the ability to read Architectural Plans and follow technical instructions.

Language Skills :Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills :Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability :Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
