Hotel:Loveland Embassy SuitesJob DescriptionProfile:Telecommute: NoBonus Eligible: YesDirect Reports: NoReports To: Director, Sales and EventsPrimary Purpose:The primary purpose of the Sales and Event Service Manager is to developcatering accounts, detail, and help execute successful catering events toachieve assigned catering and associated room revenue goals.Work Performed:TheSales and EventServiceManagerwill be tasked with the following duties,responsibilities, and assignments:Serve as the onsite contact for all assigned groups, as well as work withthe customer to produce Banquet Event Orders and Convention Resumes,ensuring that all special arrangements are properlydocumented;Ensure timely distribution of all Banquet Event Orders and Group Resumes tothe appropriate departments and follow up on anyquestions;Maintain detailed files, notes, records, and trace systems to ensure themeeting and event experience meet the customer'sexpectations;Verify space requirements and meeting room set-up with the client and ensurethat public space needed is properly maintained and in goodcondition;Confirm revisions in agendas, room blocks, etc. and notify correspondingdepartments in a timelymanner;Finalize the program/agenda with client and check all scheduled functionsone hour prior to starttime;Review event sheets and work with appropriate departments to ensure qualityandsatisfaction;Offerpreandpost-conventionmeetings giving the customer to communicate with thehotel teams on expectations and areas the hotel opportunity to customer andcoordinate the meetings professionally; andAny and allother work as required to complete the primary purpose of theposition.Qualifications:Required Prior Experience:2 yearscatering sales or 2 years in hotel Catering/Convention Services,Banquet, Hotel Sales or Culinary Arts or an equivalent combination ofeducation and experiencePreferred Education:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel andRestaurant Management, or related majorRequired Licenses/ Certification:Valid Driver's license and reliable transportationRequired Technology:Proficient in Microsoft OfficePreferred Technology:Experience with Delphi,FDC, and/or Marriott CI/TYPhysical:8+ hours sitting at a desk and computerOther:Excellent written and oral communication skillsCompetencies:(38)Organizational AgilityKnowledgeable about how organizations work; knows how to get things doneboth through formal channels and the informal network; understands theorigin and reasoning behind key policies, practices, and procedures;understands the cultures of organizations.(37)NegotiatingCan negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and externalgroups; can settle differences with minimum noise; can win concessionswithout damaging relationships, can be both direct and forceful as well asdiplomatic; gains trust quickly of other parties to the negotiations; hasa good sense of timing.(15) Customer Focus
