Additional important information about this position is available on the Stateof Colorado Job Board posting.Description of JobThe purpose of the Nutrition Services Department is to provide quality foodservice and medical nutrition therapy to more than 1500 clients in a mentalhealth care facility and the Colorado Department of Corrections. With over 100employees, the department strives, within available resources, toprovide adequate nutrition to clients based on medical, spiritual,ethnic, cultural, and mental health needs.The purpose of this position is to prepare and serve meals to CMHIP patientsin a respective dining room. The position is responsible for preparing andcooking a variety of food including modified diets while adhering tofederal, state and local regulations. This position grills, re-therms foodin the combi-oven, assembles and portions food, and serves food from acafeteria line to patients. As a cook, this position serves as team leader.May be scheduled to work in North Kitchen or dining rooms, based on businessneDUTIES:Prepares and re-therms food and beverage products. Takes QA sample bags andstores for 72 hours until testing is completed. Cooks meals by using variouscooking methods and equipment (i.e. combi-oven, griddle, conveyortoasters, etc.). Prepares meals in accordance to load slips and ensuresfood safety and sanitation guidelines are followed. The position also servesmeals/snacks to CMHIP patients in accordance with meal report. Overseesdining services II positions to ensure all kitchen and dining room areas arekept clean and dishwasher temperatures are documented.The position is responsible for completing an inventory of dining roomsupplies. Orders supplies from North Kitchen as needed by using bread and milkorder form. Receives supplies and stores them in the appropriate locationbased on the item being delivered (i.e. cold item, dry storage,chemicals, etc.).Documents knife counts, refrigeration temperatures and food temperatures ondesignated log sheets. Ensures all refrigerators other log sheets are updateddaily. Follows all policies, rules, regulations, and practices of thedepartment to include wearing ID badge, proper uniform, and accountabilitywith keys, utensils and sharps counts by following safety procedures.Complies with all federal, state, local and CMHIP regulations regardingsanitation, safety (i.e. equipment operation, work practices) andsecurity (i.e. utensil counts, keys control.). Ensures IOJ and incidentreports are completed in a timely manner.Maintains competency by attending trainings and in-services. Maintains activecomputer access to complete Cornerstone trainings.Other duties may be assigned or may be asked on work other units to ensurecoverage.Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment and AppealRightsMinimum Qualifications :Two (2) years of food service experience.Substitutions:NoneEmployment history is calculated on a full-time basis (40/hrs per week).Part-time employment is calculated on a pro-rated basis to determinequalifications.
