CITY OF PUEBLO Recreation Aide - El Centro Rec Center in Pueblo, Colorado

Title: Recreation Aide - El Centro Rec CenterDuties: Responsible for guidance and leadership of all participantsEnsure accurate attendance records are kept current at all timesAssist in carrying out weekly program activitiesAppropriate and effective discipline and management of groupAssist in facilitation of activities for all groupsEstablish a positive rapport with all participants in programAttend all staff meetings and training sessions, including any state-mandated coursesResponsible for maintaining equipment and suppliesMaintains cleanliness of equipment and facilitiesPerform related duties and responsibilities as required.This is a non-exempt, temporary, part-time position, limited to 1300hours annually, under supervision of the Recreation Supervisor and/orCoordinator. The Recreation Aide is responsible for all participants in aprogram area and assisting in the planning and leadership of all activities atthe site as assigned by the supervisor.Please note, number of positions to be filled dependent on programmingrestrictions related to COVID-19 public health emergencySPECIAL CONDITIONS OF WORK:First Aid certification must to be obtained within six months of appointment.All required licenses and certifications must be maintained throughout theterm of employment. Failure to obtain and maintain the licenses andcertifications may result in demotion or termination. The individual must bewilling and able to work a flexible schedule.Requirements: 3 months experience in parks and/or recreation settingOther Requirements:Knowledge of: Operations, services and activities of an assigned program area. Sports and youth/teen programmingAbility to: Oversee, coordinate and implement programs in assigned area. Recommend and implement goals and objectives for providing services. Provide direction to program participants. Recommend programs that meet community needs. Interpret and apply rules and regulations in assigned program areas. Ensure program compliance with mandated City policies/procedures/rules/regs.
