Job Title:Nutrition Department ManagerDuties:Reports to the Business Manager. Oversee menu planning consistent with stateand federal guidelines and with an emphasis on the use of healthy,seasonal, regional and sustainable food products. Use seasonal, regionaland sustainably produced food products, to the greatest degree possible,with an emphasis on foods prepared from scratch in each school kitchen.Purchases all food and supplies for school cafeterias. Manages and supervisesfree and reduced lunch program, including reviewing and approvingapplications, and reporting to the CDE. Completing all necessary reportsprior to or on the date they are due. Submitting the CDE food service auditand certification. Obtain proper training for all food service staff.Oversee the implementation of the Farm-to-School model by finding innovativeways to keep the school lunch program supplied with fresh, seasonal,sustainably grown produce and products, by building positive partnerships.Monitoring all cafeteria inventories and adjusting them as necessary.Planning and monitoring the Food Service Budget. Providing a positive work envRequirements of the job:Must be at least 18 years of age; must have drivers license; must be ableto pass background check and drug test. Must have high school diploma orequivalent; prefers someone with training and/or certification in CulinaryArts. Management of industrial kitchen preferred. Must have strong computerskills including Microsoft Office, Excel, POS, and Infinite Campus,strong conflict resolution skills. Strong organizational skills and attentionto detail. Ability to collaborate with team members. Leadership skillsthat support program objectives. Possess successful experience in foodservice and management. Ability to order and maintain foods and all foodservice supplies and equipment. Maintain a safe kitchen and cafeteriaenvironment. Familiarity with the Infinite Campus POS system. Trainingand/or certification in the culinary arts preferred. Menu planning as itrelates or pertains to the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). Theemployee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee isoccasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; andtaste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. However,while lifting amounts above 25 pounds a partner must beused. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision,distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depthperception.Wages and how often paid:Pay is $39,999.32 annually; paid monthly.Benefits:Yes.
