POSITION: Night Auditor.DUTIES: Purpose: The purpose of the Night Auditor is to accommodatehotel, motel, and resort patrons by registering and assigning rooms toguests, issuing room keys or cards, transmitting and receiving messages,keeping records of occupied rooms and guests' accounts, making andconfirming reservations, and presenting statements to and collectingpayments from departing guests. Issue roomkeys and escort instructions to bellhops. Review accounts and charges withguests during the check-out process. Post charges, such as those forrooms, food, liquor, or telephone calls, to ledgers, manually or byusing computers. Transmit and receive messages, using telephones ortelephone switchboards. Contact housekeeping or maintenance staff when guestsreport problems. Make and confirm reservations. Record guest comments orcomplaints, referring customers to managers as necessary. Advisehousekeeping staff when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning.Perform bookkeeping activities, such as balancing accounts and conductingnightly audits. Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, guestregistration, and travel directions, or make recommendations regardingshopping, dining, or entertainment.Prepare for basic food service, such as setting up continental breakfast orcoffee and tea supplies. Knowledge of principles and processes for providingcustomer andpersonal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting qualitystandards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Clerical -Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as wordprocessing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription,designing forms, and other office proceduresand terminology. English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content ofthe English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules ofcomposition, and grammar. Administration and Management - Knowledge ofbusiness and management principles involved in strategic planning, resourceallocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, productionmethods, and coordination of people and resources. Computers andElectronics. Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipmecomputer hardware and software, including applications and programming.Mathematics Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus,statistics, and their applications.Social Perceptiveness Being aware of others reactions and understandingwhy they react as they do. Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to andunderstand information and ideas presented throughspoken words and sentences. Oral Expression - The ability to communicateinformation and ideas in speaking so others will understand. The ability tospeak clearly so others can understand you. The ability to identify andunderstand the speech of another person. Must pass background check.WAGE: $14.50-$15.50 per hour.SHIFTS: Full-time, 40 hours per week, overnight hours to be discussed atinterview.
