Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing the entire housekeeping operation. This includes administrative functions such as budget development and review, labor tracking, payroll, supply/inventory management, and ensuring proper key control policies are in place. Manages staff, including scheduling, training and hiring, disciplining and resolving employee issues. Inspect public areas and rooms to ensure the property is clean and in orderly condition. Typically responsible for a multiple properties and/or a large operation. Typically requires 5 years housekeeping experience, including previous supervisory experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides supervision and direction for all Housekeeping activities of the hotel to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and guest satisfaction are maintained.

  • Monitor house count and make staffing adjustments accordingly.

  • Analyze data and compile reports on expenditures, wages, labor, supplies, etc. in relation to hotel financial forecasts and budget.

  • Continuous visual and documented inspection of guest rooms and public space areas including restaurants, lounges, meeting rooms, etc.

  • Ensure proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for employees and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous supplies in accordance with OSHA regulations.

  • Manage finances of housekeeping and laundry operations including budget and inventory controls. Establish and maintain adequate supplies for efficient operation of the department.

  • Provide staffing, training, counseling and performance reviews for the housekeeping department. Also administers payroll on bi-weekly basis.

  • Evaluate condition of furniture, fixtures, decor, etc. Make recommendations and assist in the coordination of rehab projects. Will work together with property manager and rooms director to ensure condo product stays up to same standard as hotel rooms and recommend improvements that they find during their inspections.

  • Complies with all Resort policies, procedures and standards of operation.

  • Ensures the Housekeeping Department leads the charge in regard to recycling efforts and environmental initiatives.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


  • HS Diploma or GED Equivalent.

  • Previous experience in managing a hotel/resort housekeeping department.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Supervisory /Management /Assistant Housekeeping position.

  • Word, Excel, Outlook

  • Ability to read and comprehend complex correspondence in English.

  • Ability to effectively present detailed information both verbally and in written form to guests and employees throughout the organization.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to stand and walk briskly for up to 8 hours.

  • Must be able to bend, crouch stoop and kneel.


  • College degree

  • Previous luxury hotel experience

  • Bilingual English/Spanish

The budgeted range starts at $45,000-$55,250 + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
