Are you looking for an opportunity to interact with your community and share your love for Vail? Do you want free parking while you're working AND access to a locker room for ski/snowboard storage?

We are seeking a qualified guest service guru to work for 2.5 to 3 hours from 8:30am - 11am on shifts ranging from Thursday - Sunday in Lionshead and/or Vail Village.

About the position:

The Guest Service Advocate is responsible for educating guests and residents on community safety measures and advocacy while creating a warm and welcoming first impression. The position will provide information and direction that will allow our guests and residents to navigate the community amenities under state and local public health precautions, while also providing information on various businesses in town. The Guest Service Advocate must actively pay attention to the details of the operation while being a problem solver, ensuring each guest’s needs are met appropriately.

Requirements:

  • Provide up-to-date information about state and local public health requirements affecting Town of Vail.

  • Be an advocate for safe and healthy community programs such as the 5 commitments of containment.

  • Handle high volumes of guest interaction while delivering exceptional service in a safe and effective manner.

  • Accurately and effectively communicate with guests and residents on resources and processes related to community amenities (including Vail Mountain), activities, and businesses; including adaptations that may be necessary under pandemic-related circumstances.

  • Professionally assist and follow through with resolution of guest concerns.

  • Ability to learn, understand and effectively communicate with people from all different backgrounds.

  • Must have the ability to learn about the town, Vail Mountain, location specifics, events, and activities in order to answer guest inquiries.

  • Follow Town of Vail policies & procedures.

  • Perform other duties as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to develop a quick rapport with guests from a large variety of different backgrounds and cultures.

  • Successfully navigate complex and/or difficult topics with positive results.

  • Experience using a variety of technological resources in obtaining and sharing information.

  • Ability to communicate fluently and effectively in English.

  • Ability to stay calm in busy and stressful situations.

  • Capable of adhering to required responsibilities in an unsupervised environment.

  • Maintain clean and professional appearance.

  • Participate in orientation/training sessions, as necessary.

  • Willing to work outside in winter weather conditions and stand/walk for the majority of a 3-hour shift.
