Working primarily in our 3 and 4 year old ski program, Assistant Instructors will assist Instructors and Supervisors with the daily operations of Kids Ski and Ride School both inside and outside. Duties will include, but are not limited to: Kids check in/out; assisting with beginner Ski lessons; supervision and organization of kid’s games and activities; and food serving and preparation.
Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child
Monitor the safety of all children enrolled in the Winter Park Ski & Ride School from ages 3-14 years
Comfort children when they are crying or sick
Utilize customer service skills to maintain a welcoming and helpful relationship with parents and staff while in person, as well as on the phone and radios
Play with kids and getting down on the floor to relate with them
Organize activities for 3& 4 year old ski program as well as before and after ski lesson care
Assist instructing staff on snow with group lessons as well as during breaks and lunch
Help children with ski clothing, equipment and related gear
Assist in fitting children with rental equipment
Maintain ski school GPS system and monitor classes throughout the day
Keep all appropriate records such as attendance and time sheets
Perform housekeeping duties such as laundry, general cleaning and shoveling
Assist kitchen supervisor and staff with lunch preparation and serving lunches
Perform procedures and policies to ensure children leave with the appropriate adults
Maintain confidentiality and privacy

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
- Day care experience or camp counseling a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 16 years of age
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc...
The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common.
Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment.
Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting Ultra Violet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude. Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn.
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
