Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp. Building Attendant/Host - Winter Season in Winter Park, Colorado



The F&B Building Host position is required to greet guests in a friendly, outgoing manner and to communicate safety guidelines and procedures and enforce the most up to date safety measures. The F&B Building Host must be able to answer questions and handle complaints from guests in a pleasant, sincere and professional manner while enforcing current safety measures. The F&B Building Host will participate in the attendance count of guests inside the building.

The F&B Building Host duties will include: maintaining an attendance count to comply with current regulations, monitoring entrances and exits, watching for crowd altercations and guest flow, requesting guests wear a mask prior to entering the building, helping enforce a table time limit, regulate a one in - one out once the building has reached capacity and other safety measures as assigned.

The F&B Building Host will become knowledgeable of Winter Park Resort and the surrounding area and be willing to share their enthusiasm for winter sports and the Fraser Valley experience as time permits. Ongoing learning and common sense skills are needed to support varying guest and company needs.

The F&B Building Host will follow all Winter Park policies and procedures, all applicable laws (federal, state, and local), and all health and sanitation codes.

The F&B Building Host must be flexible in their position with the ability to participate in restaurant set-up, clean-up, sanitation and disinfection, restroom checks and other duties as assigned.


  • Keeps track of attendance inside the building. Manages to occupancy restrictions

  • Explains current building capacities, rules and safety measures.

  • Enforces current building capacities, rules and safety measures

  • Greets guests in F&B locations.

  • Monitors entrances and exits of building.

  • Addresses guest questions and complaints in a polite, professional manner.

  • Manages the guest lines to keep flow orderly and organized.

  • Answers questions regarding all areas of Food & Beverage along with general resort questions.

  • Helps to maintain, clean, sanitize and disinfect all areas of the restaurant.

  • Acts as a liaison between guests and management

  • Do the 10 foot rule, there is always something to do

  • Get debris off the floor

  • Keep walls clean

  • Keep heat registers clean

  • If there is something on the wall, clean it off

  • Tables and/or chairs will always be neatly arranged, according to charts

  • It is essential for the F&B Building Host to create and maintain professional working relationships in order to provide updated information to guests. Keeping in constant communication with the supervisory team and other departments in order to provide the guest with a great experience.

  • Attends regular staff meetings/daily huddle to discuss work assignments and review updates on area information.

  • Is highly visible at all times

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or GED required


  • One year Customer Service experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of local liquor and health codes

  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length at a time over an average shift of 8 hours.

  • Must be able to speak for long periods of time.

  • Must be knowledgeable of Winter Park Resort and Grand County or motivated to obtain this knowledge

  • Must have a diplomatic attitude in dealing with others.

  • Ability to speak clearly, project and effectively to both individuals and groups

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.

  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.

  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.

  • Must have the ability recognize non-verbal queues

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to: non slip footwear and gloves, masks and face shields

  • Knowledge of foreign languages desirable.
